  • "E-professions"The Labour Market is changing all the time. Some professions disappear and the others come out. This is influence of demographic processes, economic trends, changes in work organization and new technology development. Especially e-commerce branch go through dynamic growth and define the direction of business development in the future. Next to, already very well-known, positions: Web Designer, Webmaster, PHP Programmer, Graphic Artist, new specializations become popular: Social Media Expert, SMS Copywriter, SEO Specialist, SEO Copywriter, SEO Analytic, SEM Specialist, Content Manager, Web Usability Specialist and many others. The President of Entrepreneurs and Employers Union in Poland noticed that in the profession’s classification by Polish Ministry Labour and Social Policy included professions difficult to find on labour market. At that same time, there were not listed many of internet-related occupations which exist. Fortunately for youth who is thinking about next step education and professional career, in the Internet it is possible to find a brief description of e-commerce positions providing short characteristic, requirements and guidance, for example:

National studies & reports:
  • Internet increases the importance of e-commerce industry in Poland.
    There are nearly 11 000 e-shops in Poland and although most of them (almost three quarters) are employing up to 5 people, this sector creates more and more jobs opportunities. A larger number of contracts also affects the increase in demand for IT professionals in  e-commerce. The most desired ones are: internet sales professionals and traders, developers (Java, PHP / MySQL, C + +,. NET, C #) and experts in Internet marketing and professional with experience in customer service. Most companies looking for professionals to be employed in e-commerce department represents trade and sales industry, as well as operators of advertising and marketing.

  • Pracuj.pl report "Labour Market for Professionals in 2011". Key findings:
    - Nearly 325 000 jobs posted on the portal Pracuj.pl in 2011.- An increase in the total number of posted jobs by more than 1/3 compared to 2010;
    - The biggest increase in demand for workers in the IT, telecommunications and heavy industry;
    - Surprisingly greater increase in the number of jobs opportunities in the provinces, which are struggling with high unemployment than in the richer regions with lower unemployment rates.

    Summary:
    The year 2011 was a good time to look for work in telecommunications and new technologies - according to the report "Labour Market for Professionals in 2011", prepared by experts Pracuj.pl portal. Despite the many changes which have occurred last year in this market, the number of job offers coming from the industry for professionals and managers has increased by nearly 60% compared to 2010.   • Pracuj.pl report "Labour Market for Professionals Q3/2011". Key findings:
    -In the third quarter of 2011 employers have posted over 86 000 job offers on the site Pracuj.pl. It's over 1/3 more than last year, but only about 2% more than in the second quarter of this year.
    -The situation in most industries is better than last year, but most offers came in innovative sectors - IT and telecommunications and new technologies.
    -IT professionals still can not complain about the lack of interest from employer
  • Manpower Employment Outlook Surveyis conducted quarterly to measure employers’ intentions to increase or decrease the number of employees in their workforces during the next quarter. The survey has been running for nearly 50 years and is one of the most trusted surveys of employment activity in the world. The report is based on interviews with over 65,000 public and private employers across 41 countries and territories to measure anticipated employment trends each quarter. This sample allows for analysis to be performed across specific sectors and regions to provide more detailed information.
