IT specialist shortages in Germany cost €11mrd to the sector

According to a recent study conducted by Fraunhofer IAO and BITKOM (Specialist Shortages and Know-how Retention in the IT Sector) concludes that shortages of qualified specialists is costing the sector around €11mrd per year. The survey conducted among IT and communication companies in Germany also provides some suggestions on how to overcome such shortages.

ProInterNet – Roundtable Meeting in Essen, Germany – 21 March 2011

The FOM – University of Applied Sciences will host a ProInterNet roundtable meeting on 21 March 2011 in Essen, Germany. The FOM therefore offers a unique opportunity for VET institutions, Universities, companies, and public institutions to get to know and learn from each other in regard to internet-related jobs. The intention is to present a platform with a network of key players in the industry and shall enhance the interaction in order to facilitate the education and employment of people with internet-related jobs.

PIN project to be presented at the 3rd CEDEFOP Workshop on Testing of the European Qualifications Framework EQF


It is an honour to announce that PIN project partners have been invited to present the ProInterNet network as well as previous projects at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) in Thessaloniki on 15th and 16th December. During the workshop multiple European organisations and individuals will be presenting projects from various sectors in which job qualification profiles have been linked to the existing frameworks of eCF and EQF. The coordinating partner of the ProInterNet network project will not only present the current network project but also EQF Code, a LdV innovation transfer project finalised with great success by some partners of the PIN consortium this summer, and EQF iServe, another LdV project of the consortium which has just started.
